How many lawyers does it take to change a light-bulb? Most law firms will insist the more the merrier. (The answer is at the bottom of this page.)

Big-City Resumé. Small-Firm Value.

Our multichannel clients provide value to their customers and expect value in return from their vendors — including their lawyers. Unlike large national or regional law firms that often assign more than one attorney to a matter, or charge high hourly rates to pay for their salaries and overhead, Merchants Counsel works in a virtual environment. The result is potential savings to you.

Legal Fee Options

Our professional fee model allows you to choose the option that best fits your business needs and legal budget.

Single Fee Plan
Our firm’s Single Fee Plan is an annual legal services plan based on a monthly billing schedule. It includes a customized legal services plan, unlimited consultation and support, and one in-person meeting per year. The Single Fee Plan is for non-litigation matters only. In other words, think of us as your in-house legal counsel — available when you need us.

Value-Based Hourly Rates
Merchants Counsel’s hourly rates for professional services are generally much lower those of partners at large law firms.  Our calculation is based on median average hourly billing rate of AmLaw 250 law firm partners versus the hourly billing rate for Merchants Counsel. Don’t just take our word for it. Check out the 2008 National Law Journal Billing Survey of the nation’s top 250 law firms.

Project-Based Fees
If you prefer that we work on a per-project basis, Merchants Counsel will provide you with customized service at a maximum value.

Answer: It takes three. One to change the light-bulb, one to let you know you need a light-bulb, and one to supervise the procurement process and labor.
